JUNE 10, 2021, UPDATE: Take a look at the results of the survey of parents, students, staff and community, as well as the presentation given to the Board of Education on June 10, including a breakdown on how each calendar impacts the CCSD budget. Thank you for your participation! Your voice is important and listened to by all of Central Schools!
The District's Calendar Committee has developed five (5) calendar options for consideration for the 2021-22 school year.
- All 4-Day calendars include the K5+ Program and Extended Learning Time Program (ELTP) embedded within the negotiated 185 teacher contract days and 7.5 hours/day.
- 5-Day calendar DOES NOT include K5+ Program and Extended Learning Time Program (ELTP) embedded. The additional time would be IN ADDITION to the negotiated 185 teacher contract days.
- The difference between the 4-Day Calendars with K5+/ELTP and the current 5-Day base calendar is the amount of time that STUDENTS spend in the classroom. There is no difference in teacher time spent at school.
- Please review all of the calendars carefully. Review the explanation of the calendars and the additional learning time mandated by Senate Bill 40 and House Bill 2 for NM Public Schools. Ask questions!
