"I really like Ignite. I think it's good to get to know freshmen, help them out, basically be there for them," Sarah shared.
The collaborative effort of the students in organizing the Easter egg hunt exemplifies the spirit of community and support at Kirtland Central High School. The event not only provided a fun and engaging experience but also promoted inclusivity and excitement among students.
KCHS counselor Brian Joe The Ignite peer mentoring program at Kirtland High School continues to make a positive impact on the school community with its recent Easter egg hunt event. The program, which pairs upperclassmen with freshmen to provide guidance and support, organized a fun-filled activity that brought students together.
"We are thrilled to see our students taking the initiative to create such a memorable event for their peers," expressed Councilor Brian Joe, Ignite Advisor. "Events like the Easter egg hunt to not only have a sense of community but also demonstrate the leadership skills and teamwork by our student mentors."
“It's great that the mentors have the freedom to choose positive activities during their advisor periods, like teaching lessons, playing games, or helping with homework." said Councillor Brian Joe.
The Ignite peer mentoring program at Kirtland High School continues to hold its mission of supporting freshmen through the transition into high school and having positive relationships among students. According to Councilor Dr. Brian Joe, "It's really cool how it started as Natural Helpers and then evolved into Ignite."
