Important Information Regarding a Data Security Incident at PowerSchool

Dear CCSD Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you that PowerSchool, our Student Information System (SIS) provider, has notified certain parents and guardians regarding a recent cybersecurity incident. If you have received a direct communication from PowerSchool, it means that some of your student's data may have been involved in this incident.

What PowerSchool Has Communicated:

PowerSchool has informed affected individuals via email at [email protected] about a cybersecurity incident that occurred on December 28, 2024, involving unauthorized access to certain personal information from their SIS environments. Following communication with the PowerSchool team, Central Consolidated School District has determined that recipients should follow the procedural steps detailed by PowerSchool.

What Information May Have Been Involved:

According to PowerSchool, the types of information involved varied by individual, but could include:

  • Name
  • Contact information
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security Number
  • Limited medical alert information

How PowerSchool Is Helping:

PowerSchool is offering the following to those affected:

  • Two years of complimentary identity protection services for students and educators.
  • Two years of complimentary credit monitoring services for adult students and educators.

What You Should Do:

  • If you have received a notification from PowerSchool, please carefully review the information they have provided, including the instructions for enrolling in the complimentary protection services.
  • Remain vigilant and monitor your accounts for any suspicious activity.
