Rashinda Billie Wins Prestigious Milken Educator Award

On January 15, 2025, our incredible fourth-grade teacher, Ms. Rashinda Billie has been honored with the prestigious Milken Educator Award, often called the "Oscars of Teaching"! This national award recognizes her exceptional contributions to education and comes with a well-deserved $25,000 prize.

We surprised Ms. Billie with the award at a school assembly on January 15th. Milken Educator Awards Vice President Jennifer Fuller and New Mexico Public Education Department Deputy Secretary Dr. Candace Castillo were there to present her with this incredible honor.

Ms. Billie's dedication to our students is truly inspiring! She exemplifies the qualities of a great educator: passion, empathy, and a belief in every child's potential.

We are beyond proud to have Ms. Billie as part of the Kirtland Elementary School family!
