March Message

April 11, 2025

Ya’at’eeh Parents, Grandparents, and Relatives:

April is T'a´a´chil, which translates to "little leaves" or

"growth of early plant life". It signifies the time when the

weather warms up and plants start to emerge and grow again

Please be reminded that next week is state NM-MSSA testing for 3rd-6th grade.

Students need to:

  1. Get a Good Night’s Sleep - A good night’s sleep will help you think more clearly during the test. It will also make it easier to cope with test-taking stress and anxiety. Moreover, excellent sleep habits have been shown to consolidate memory and improve academic performance

  2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast - A mix of complex carbohydrates and healthy protein will keep you feeling full without making you feel sluggish. Whole wheat cereal, eggs, oatmeal, berries, and nuts may be great choices (depending on your personal dietary needs and preferences). It’s best to avoid foods that are high in sugar, as they can give you a rush of energy that will wear off quickly, leaving you feeling tired.

  3. Drink plenty of water

  4. Attendance is Important - Arrive Early - get into a positive state of mind before the test starts.

A positive mindset in test preparation is important. Test taking can cause some stress on children and/or test anxiety, and lack of focus- so it's important to go for a short walk, listen to music, simple breathing exercises, and visualize our students succeeding on the test.

 We have had many accomplishments:

  1. Students have been in school for days 151

  2. Students Attendance Rate is at 89.5%

  3. Weekly Attendance Awards to Students and Staff

  4. After School Tutoring Next week for K-2nd grade students

  5. Miss Naschitti Song and Dance, Apr 13, 2025 - starts at 10:00am

  6. 6th Grade will return to Naschitti Elementary School for SY 2025-26. We will have an official celebration and welcome for this transition in May 2025.

Upcoming events:

  • April 16, 2025 Picture Day

  • April 17, 2025 Easter Egg Hunt

  • April 18, 2025- Good Friday (No School)

  • April 28, 2025- Navajo Sovereignty Day (No School)
