High School Next-Step Plans for Grades 9-12

A message from Central Consolidated School District

The Central Consolidated School District is committed to ensuring all high school students are thoughtfully planning for their future. As part of this commitment, we are implementing Next Step Plans for all students in grades 9 through 12. These plans help students explore their interests, set goals, and prepare for their post-secondary pathways.

Parent/Guardian involvement is crucial. For students under the age of 18, a parent or guardian signature is required on the Next Step Plan form. Please ensure that you review the plan with your student and sign the form when it is received from the school.

Each high school will have its own procedures and deadlines for distributing and collecting these forms. Please look for communication from your student's school regarding these details, which may include hard copies, digital forms, and return instructions. Generally, completed forms are expected to be returned to the school office or counselors by early April.

The district is working closely with each high school to support the timely completion of these important plans. Your cooperation in reviewing, signing and ensuring the return of these forms by the school's deadline is greatly appreciated.

For any questions, please contact your student's high school counseling department.

FFA at National Stock Show

FFA at National Stock Show

Kirtland FFA spent Christmas break at the Arizona National Livestock Show. We had 4 students in attendance, and one younger brother of a member. This show brought in people from 30 states (even Hawaii) and we hung competitively with the very best in the nation! I’m going to list what each kid competed in instead of individual animal results so I make sure I don’t get any wrong.

I also want to shout out our wonderful maintenance crew for everything they do to get the farm back up and running. Because of you, we have kids coming home to Kirtland with national champion honors! Thanks!!! If you see these guys, please make sure to tell them how much they’re appreciated.

Teacher Appreciation At The Football Game

Teacher Appreciation RecipientsThe Teachers and Their Students

On Friday, September 22, 2023, the KCHS football players nominated their favorite teachers from throughout their school years. At the game the teachers walked onto the field wearing their players' jerseys. Coach Clary started this tradition last year, and the players have had "so much fun doing it," according to the Coach.

Senior gifts have been a long standing high school tradition showing student support and setting an example for future classes.  Class of 2023 Student Body President Madison Manuelito wanted to reignite this tradition and set out to showcase the pride of The Class of 2023.  With the support of CW2 (R.) Pedro Larribas, of the JROTC Bronco Battalion, they garnered local support from the Four Corners Power Plant to purchase a mighty Bronco Statue.  This statue can be viewed in the commons at Kirtland Central High School.
