The SAT is a national assessment developed by The College Board to measure knowledge and skills that can consistently predict a student’s success in college and workforce training programs.
Who takes the SAT School Day?
All 11th grade students in New Mexico public schools will participate in the SAT during the school day in spring 2025, except for those students who take the alternate assessment based upon an IEP.
How is the test administered?
Starting in spring 2024, all students will take SAT School Day digitally. The SAT is composed of two sections: the Reading and Writing section and the Math section. You have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the Math section for a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes of testing time.
Each section is divided into two equal length modules, and there is a 10-minute break between the Reading and Writing section and the Math section. The first module of each section contains a broad mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Based on how you perform on the first module, the second module of questions will either be more difficult or less difficult.
The SAT provides 68% more time per question than the ACT®.
What is the test score range?
For each score, the official score report PDF includes:
- All possible scores:
- 400–1600 for total score
- 200–800 for section scores
When is the test given?
CCSD high school juniors will take the SAT on April 2nd.
