Shiprock, NM – The Central Consolidated School District (CCSD) has appointed Dominic Sategna as its new Director of Finance. Sategna brings a wealth of experience in finance, architecture, planning, and public service to the district, along with deep roots in the local community.
Professional Background
- Investment Management: Sategna has worked in investment management as a senior analyst for 10 years.
- Education: Sategna received a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Policy Planning from the University of New Mexico (UNM).
- Architecture and Planning: Prior to his work in finance, Sategna gained experience in architecture, planning, and design, including school buildings and training centers. He also collaborated with Ann Taylor, a professor at UNM, to incorporate architecture into K-12 classrooms to teach math and science.
- Public Service: Sategna served on the planning commission for three years in the city of Santa Fe and as president of the Homeowners Association (HOA).
Local Ties and Commitment
- Bloomfield Native: Sategna grew up in Bloomfield, New Mexico, and is returning to the area after living in Santa Fe for 10 years.
- Family of Educators: Sategna comes from a family of educators, coaches, and administrators with over 45 years of experience in the area.
Sategna is committed to helping preserve the Diné culture and the Navajo language and understands the potential impact of decisions on the community. He also has an appreciation for all cultures in the area.
