On Saturday, June 29, 2024, twenty Central Consolidated School District's gifted students (grades 6-12) traveled to Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. This is the second year that the CCSD Gifted, Talented, and Creative Program has partnered with Purdue University HOPE+SIM Partnership, which partners CCSD gifted teachers and Purdue Research Team and twenty scholarships to our CCSD gifted and talented students to attend Purdue University Gifted Education Research and Resource Institute (GER2I) Summer Residential Camp.
This year hailing from Newcomb, Shiprock, and Kirtland middle and high schools, our CCSD students participated in a two-week residential camp engaging gifted, creative, and talented students across the country and around the world. They experienced a college lifestyle with campus residential dorms and take challenging courses including Leadership, Neuroscience, Game Theory, Engineering, Robotics, Quantum Computing, and more! Central Consolidated School District is thrilled to have sent these talented students to the prestigious Purdue University GER2I Camp!

Our district proudly highlighted its standing as one of the top educational districts in the region, attributing the achievement to the exceptional faculty on board. The district has rolled out revamped programs specifically tailored to cater to gifted students in grades K-12, marking a significant development in the pursuit of academic excellence. An exciting partnership with ASU has been established to provide elementary and middle school students with access to ASU digital prep global, aimed at fostering accelerated learning. Moreover, high school students have been offered the opportunity to enroll in dual credit courses.
