Complete a Referral Form

Gifted Referral Form Now Open for Parents and Guardians

As part of our commitment to nurturing exceptional talent, we invite parents and guardians to complete the Gifted Referral Form if they believe their student is performing well above grade level or demonstrating exceptional strengths or talents. This form allows us to review your child’s performance and achievement to determine eligibility for specialized educational services.

In New Mexico, a "gifted child" is defined as a school-age individual whose intellectual abilities, creative thinking, problem-solving skills, artistic talents, or leadership qualities meet specific criteria outlined in the New Mexico Administrative Code. A properly constituted IEP team will assess whether special education services are necessary to meet the child's unique educational needs.

Upon receiving the completed form, the CCSD GTC Education Program will begin collecting relevant data and, if needed, will arrange for testing. Following a comprehensive evaluation process, the student’s referral will be reviewed by the School Gifted Team (SGT). Parents will receive the results of this screening through a phone call, letter, or meeting.
