New Student Enrollment

Registration Begins April 1st

For those interested, please reach out to your schools to arrange a tour and explore the facilities. As always, feel free to call us with any questions you may have. Here is what is needed to enroll at the district.

Age Requirements (by August 31, 2025):

    • Kindergarten: Must be 5 years old.
    • 4-Year-Old Preschool: Must be 4 years old.
    • For 3-Year-Old Preschool, please contact CCSD Special Ed. at (505) 368-5163 for information. Note that a regular 3Y prek program may be coming, and a waitlist is currently being taken. Contact the special education department to add your child to the waitlist.

Required Documents for Registration (please have these ready to submit):

  • Up-To-Date Immunization Records. Important Note: No recognition of immunization records may stop the registration process, especially for students from out of state. If you don't have them, contact the CCSD DATA Department or your school health aid. For New Mexico records, they may be able to look them up.
  • Original Birth Certificate. Please double-check the name and birthday as corrections at the state level are required for errors.
  • Parent/Guardian’s Valid Picture ID.
  • Proof of Residency (utility bill, rental agreement, chapter house verification, or valid driver's license with a detailed address). Only the page with the address is needed for lease/contract agreements. If families live together, the homeowner's utility bill and a note explaining the living situation are acceptable.
  • Legal Documents (if applicable) such as Guardianship papers, Name Change documents, and Court Orders. These documents must be notarized, and the validity date should be checked. Caregivers' affidavits are not CCSD forms and must be obtained from DNA or social services.
  • Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) for Native American Students (if applicable). Registration should not be held up if it is not provided.
  • Transcripts/Report Cards & Withdrawal Form (if available) for transfer students.
  • Parent/Guardian’s Email Address & Valid Telephone Number (if applicable). While not mandatory to stop registration if refused, providing these details is encouraged for important school communications, as CCSD is moving towards paperless communication. Please provide a valid personal email address, not a CCSD email.
  • For any questions regarding registration, please call the CCSD DATA Department @ (505) 369-0606.

We encourage you to visit our school websites or call the individual schools for more information or to schedule a visit to tour our facilities. Our schools are located in the Newcomb & Naschitti Area, Kirtland & Ojo Amarillo Area, and Shiprock Area.

About our Unique Enhancements to Pre-k Classrooms

The Central Consolidated School District (CCSD) offers unique prekindergarten classrooms designed to provide a strong foundation for your child's education. These services are available throughout all CCSD elementary schools.

Our prek program emphasizes bilingualism and incorporates Cultural Linguistics in learning (CLRI), connecting your child's home life with their classroom experiences. While adhering to New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) regulations and Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECCD) guidelines, we also work in conjunction with the Navajo Nation Head Start program to create a comprehensive approach.

In the second semester, our four-year-old prek classes transition to a more academic focus, ensuring a solid foundation for kindergarten. Uniquely, our elementary school principals have embraced the idea of offering prek students enriching experiences like art, music, PE, library, and sometimes beginning computer classes, providing advantages that not all daycare or prek facilities offer. We believe this well-rounded approach helps your child seamlessly transition into kindergarten.
